I wish that Liam guy woulda given us a way to contact them, than we could all send them annoying A*S*S messages until they got off their FAT A*S*S*E*S and did something about it.

1.I can't post nothing in my forum, even:"Thanks..." - I see "Error 500"
2.There are many people can't post anything because they IP banned.

I tried to do a post using the word f.r.e.e. on my local forum. Seeing how that word crops up often in normal conversation, I thought it would be fine. Instead I got the same 500 error. I ask that this word be removed from the auto-filter list and left up to local forum admin choice, seeing how my board has a trade section for our game, and that word is bound to be used more often.

@navizero
SNAP! But in fact we were using it in the context of fridge-f.r.e.e.z.e.r for crying out loud.

@admin: I really do appreciate the efforts being made to stop those annoying a.d.s because let's face it they are SO intrusive and downright rude. Having said that, ours is a private forum used by only 14 people. It is set that no one has posting permissions or even viewing permissions until approved by admin and thus I would really like a choice in this matter; a simple opt-out would suffice.
PLease get something done soon as it's really disheartening when you've typed a long message only to lose it and it's gonna be a pain in the rear to have to move- but we WILL be forced to do so if it doesn't get sorted soon.
Cheers.

Here's what i did to fix it. I went to the forgot password link and changed my p/w. I posted about it this morning, but it looks like they don't want you to know how to fix it, or they figured out how to fix it from my original post...... So here's to hoping it works for you too.....

I was just wondering if there could be a chance to see all of the words in the keyword filter list, so that if there are words that for example we Finns use in our daily language, we could complain about them. And btw, is the word lolita banned, too? If it is, as one of our user pointed out, I'd like to have that disbanned, 'cause our forum handles japanese rock and lolita is a very common fashion style in Japan as you perhaps know.

My point was that seeing the complete list of filtered words would be nice.

That would be about as easy as getting someone at tech support answer a ticket you've submitted. anything a.dult, p.har.macy or c.asi.no along with some swear words get caught up in this ugly web of a word filter. I'm just glad I transferred cause now I don't have to deal with that.

My third post about how to correct the problem has been removed, I guess the makeforum.org guys really don't want you to know how to fix it..... Sorry that you guys are still having a problem. My forum is working fine now... If you guys want a workaround, AIM is horrorflix21, don't hesitate to ask me....

MakeForum.org really needs to do something about this. I have people that can't post, and they are NOT using any of the said words that are banned. I don't want any words banned. We will ban people as needed. We will moderate. That's the point. Please, fix something. It's very frustrating.

The only way around this is to upgrade. The word filter that they use is a universally applied one on their server, and they have it there for basically spam measures. They aren't going to get rid of it, for the simple fact they will get blasted with spam, which in turn will plug up the server, slow it down, and then crash. Yeah, I know a lot of you don't want to upgrade, but it's the only workable solution if you want full control over the word filter.

Bite the bullet and upgrade. No more 404 or 500 errors. Money well spent if you don't want the headaches anymore.

We get the 500 error and no wrong words were used, the posts are not long and sometimes if we try and unsticky a thread it pops over to the white screen that says 500.

As for upgrading that's not an option for us. Unless we mail in a cashier's check or money order. Most other free boards that use the phpBB system don't have this issue. I'd hate to move our board again because we've already moved it once and we'd lose all our threads and posts.
